OK, you asked ...

1. Find a shelter out of the sun on a calm day with little dust in the air

2. Locate a warm water pressure washer

3. Get some Meguire's car wash and a spray bottle

4. Spray down your car with the Meguire's mixed with water

5. Let it soak in for 5 minutes

6. Using a pressure washer, wash off the car.

At this point you have hopefully removed the larger contaminates on the paint surface.

7. Using a new, clean sponge, wash the top of your car using the car wash.

8. Rinse

9. Wash the hood of your car.

10. Rinse

11. Wash the trunk of your car.

12. Rinse.

13. Now starting at the top of the fenders work your way down about 2/3rds way and go around the car.

14. Wash the remaining third around the bottom of your car.

15. Wash your tires and wheels last.

The idea is that during the washing process anything (rag, sponge, etc.) used will accumulate dirt. You can't simply rinse the rag or sponge and remove it. This microscopic debris acts as sandpaper on your paint. The larger the particles, the worse the scratching. Larger particles tend to be on your tires, wheels and lower portions of your vehicle so you should wash them LAST.

After you are through, throw away the sponge!

Dry with a clean, preferably new, 100% cotton towel in the same order you washed it.

One more hint: When cleaning the plastic covering on your instrument panel first use a camera lens cleaning brush in conjunction with a vacuum to remove the dust. Most covers are acrylic and scratch extremely easy. Be aware than some cleaners will attack acrylic.
wash hands. avoid grease. wash car. dry with towel
