that's hogwash!, there just trying to promote their car wash, if you keep wax on your paint your not going to harm it one bit hand washing it as long as you use a clean sponge and start from the top and wash down and rinse thoroughly.Do you hand wash your car or machine wash? You are going to get a lot of different opinions on this. I can just tell you my experience. If you are going to hand wash use a soft cloth and rinse the car thoroughly before you start washing the car with the cloth. Wash the car top to bottom leaving the wheels and tires for last. Rinse the rag very frequently and change the water if the car is very dirty. Grit is the enemy here. You do not want to scratch your car by using a dirty cloth. Use a good soap made specifically for washing cars as well.
Its a scam. Hand washing a car is not bad as long as proper tools are used with it.
