Best way to wash my car by hand?

i enjoy washing my car by myself but i cant seem to find a way to get rid of the water streaks...no matter how fast i try to do it...any tips or suggetions?Best way to wash my car by hand?
my procedure using a garden hose at normal house pressure.

1. vehicle should be cool and in the shade

2. a) 1 bucket method: fill bucket with water and soap

b) 2 bucket method uses 2 buckets both filled with soap and water, 1 is used to rinse/clean the rag, the other is used to pick up clean soap..

you want to clean the dirt and grime out of your rag, while washing frequently to prevent mud or dirt in the rag from scratching the paint.

3. I use a nice kinda thicker style micro-fiber rag to wash the car.

4. Before washing car, rinse as much dirt and grime off the car.

5. Thoroughly wet the car

6. Wash sections at a time starting at the top and work down.

8. While washing in sections thoroughly keep car wet, to prevent drying and water spots.

9. When finished washing. I use a chamois to dry the car. I think you can use a 'terry' cloth also. Drying car by hand prevents spots.

See if there's someplace in your residence you can access ';soft'; water, it's less likely to streak. Wash in shade after the car's surface has cooled down (you should be able to hold your hand on the car, give it at least an hour), wash and rinse by section not all at once. Also do not use hand dishwashing detergent it is hard on the paint. When drying wipe down the horizontal sections first (hood, roof, and trunk), you have to dry those first because the water has nowhere to drain off, causing streaks.
i use the rainx soap with the carnuba wax in it. its blue gel with little bulbs in it. it works absolutely great and rinses clean. dry the windows first then the hood/roof/truck then the sides...good soap will make the world of difference. and its only like $6 at walmart
