Take it to a detail shop and they will use rubing compund and all that good stuff. theyll come off. dont do it your self u will strip the paintI scratched my car by washing it without spraying off real well B4 hand, now there are swirls! what product..?
The scratches must be rather deep. You should take it to a detail shop %26amp; see what they advise. I don't mean a car wash variety detailer. I mean a custom detailer. Black is a hard color to work with %26amp; with the two stage paint, you run the risk of going through clear top coat. email me at shjf47@yahoo.com with the city %26amp; state where you live %26amp; maybe I can assist you in finding one.

Friends. I got an second hand car last week. It was shinning when I go it. Yesterday I washed it and now there

some wired type of marks on it. My car is black color. Marks are something like water marks. I have tried it a lot to get rid of them. I went to car wash and also tried my self. Those marks dont go away.

Can you tell me what type of polish I should use to get rid of those marks. Or any other method of washing. From where to get that polish, which will make my car shine again.

Serious reply only.

Thanks

i'd get a PC kit if i were you. you can polish your car, or about any other car you wanted, back to the new paint shine it once had. here's a link, and its about the only polisher that can remove swirls and oxidation.

maguiers
Take ';Bobsleds'; advice above. That is what I used on the 3 black cars I've owned. On my last one (a Saleen Mustang) I noticed that acid rain is particularly rough on the paint and finish. Meguiars products were the best, based on trial and error.

Turtle wax makes a GREAT rubbing compound(use the green and white not the red and white container). You will no doubt need a spray bottle of water and a good buffer to get the scratches out. Although you CAN do it by hand, you spend an eternity getting there.

Only thing I can think of is try wax, probably turtle wax, it's a good brand. I don't know what the marks would be from.Friends. I got an second hand car last week. It was shinning when I go it. Yesterday I washed it and now there
try a good paste carnuba wax like Mothers.. its a little pricey maby 20 bucks but deffintally the best..thats weird though that you had no marks washed it, had markes and now they wont wash off lol .. what kind of soap did you wash it with the first time??? the marks were probally always there but you couldnt see them because the cat you got the car from polished and waxed the hell out of it and the soap you used stripped it all off..humm.. without seing it I cant really say, but its an idea..I have a 92 Celica that i can wax and it looks showroom new 2 weeks later it looks like a 92 ;)
Was anything spilled on the car? Certain chemicals might cause discoloration like bleach, nail polish remover, or even Mountain Dew. My son spit it all over my house and it actually discolored the paint.
Try some rubbing compound on the spots, followed by polishing compound. Then a good wax.
first of all use a soap made specifically to wash cars. Like Mothers or Meguiars. Don't wash with soap for dishes.

Then, dry it with a nice chamois before it dries under the sun. So wash in the shadow or at the start of the evening or be sure to always but a lot of water on the car while washing it so it doesn't dry because of the sun.

change your water a couple of times while washing it so you don't wash with dirty water

never bring your sponge or mitten at the bottom of the water. That's where all the dirt goes and you are just putting it back on the car.

Before using compound, just wax it with meguiars or mother's waxes.

use windex on the windows at the end.

The most important step... dry it yourself before the sun takes care of it.
first of all do youu dry your car after washing? if so i cant help you. If not there is one solution i stand behind Mr. Cleans auto dry.The filters get impurities out of water and insure a spot free shine, i also suggest drying w/ a clean cloth after washing. Ipromise i dont work for mr clean but you can get it at walmart %26amp; its worth the price
Try Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound and wax. That should get rid of those marks. Rubbing compound is a very fine grit(what they put on laquered cars to bring up the shine.

Try it first on an inconspicuous spot first.
use the turtle wax color cure. its wax thats specific for each type of car color. they come in black ,red, silver, and blue i believe. its generally for light scratches and swirl marks but i've found that it covers up most things. i had a really deep scratch and wierd discolorings on my new silver altima. it worked perfectly and covered up everything to the point that i didn't even know where the spots i covered up was. the best part is the color blends to match your spcific shade of black.

wash again, use a clay bar, use a very mild polish, then use a sealer/glaze, apply two coats of wax and it should get rid of and cover up any wash induced swirls. Use Mothers.http://www.mothers.com/I scratched my car by washing it without spraying off real well B4 hand, now there are swirls! what product..?
Oh those swirls can be an eye sore. The one thing you forgot to mention, is it clear coated as it makes a big difference in the product you use when it comes to removing swirl marks.

Buy a power waxer ( Home Depot for 20$). Then go buy the basic Meguires Cleaner Wax. Buff in on and then buff it off. It will take fine scratches and any water marks off the paint. The wax you can buy anywhere from Walmart to Autozone. Even most grocery stores.Friends. I got an second hand car last week. It was shinning when I go it. Yesterday I washed it and now there
I would say try using a light cutting rubbing compound, but that will leave scratches in your paint that will be very visable. However you might be able to cover them up with a good wax such as Mothers. Another thing you might try is next time you wash your car use a clay block that Meguiars or Mothers makes and run that over the areas where the water marks are. Go over it a few times and then dry your car. If they are still there then try the rubbing compound and a good wax. Use Mothers cleaner wax then use a good protectant wax.

Depending on the car, now if it's your regular beater, then it only matters to the person and the use of the car.

Now if your talking classic model like a 66 Chevy Impala, in near cherry condition you wash it yourself and do it all by hand because that's like your baby.

    ;o}
Back when I was a kid (right after the Model T came out ;) ) I washed by hand. Then I took it to the ';do it yourself'; washes. Now I stay in the comfort of the car and let the automatic car wash do it all!
With my volvo and durango, I pay to have them washed and detailed once a week. I hand wash my old benz though, I can't let anything happen to it.

    -jay
I usually pay... however, it's fun to wash it by yourself in the summer if you have a group of friends and a garden hose :-)
Both, If I have the time I do it by hand. If I'm in a hurry I pay to do it.
if i have time ill do it... otherwise i would pay

that is if i had a car.... only 4 more days to go... yay

  • Washing & waxing a car by hand question?

1)When you wash a car by hand do you have to dry it before applying the wax?

    2) AND is wax supossed to be applied only to the bodywork/metal of the car, or can it be applied to the windscreen, windows, tyre rims etc?

Thanks xWashing %26amp; waxing a car by hand question?
    1) you need to fully dry the car before applying wax to the paint.

    2) most car waxes should only be applied to the paint of the car, however there are some that can be used on chrome, check the instructions on the bottle.

Ja.Washing %26amp; waxing a car by hand question?
    1. yes, and if you dont dry it, it can cause water spots, although, there is wash as you dry wax, but those type suck

    2. wax is only suppose to be applied to paint, you can do metal too, rims, you can do also, just dont get it on the trim. no wax is specifically made to be put on windows, but i put it on mine, with no problems

    wax only with microfiber applicators

    or foam applicators
best way is to dry the car off, then wax it, do not put wax on the wind screen but all other glass is ok, the longer you leave the wax on the better, as it gives it time to bond to the paint work, do not put wax on rubber or plastic because it will dry white and is hard to get off, this should be dressed with tyre dressing, little tip when you have removed wax brush out the cracks that have wax in (edge of rubbers etc ) with a paint brush or old tooth brush for a better finish hope this helps
1)usually you gotta dry the car

2)you could i waxed my windows before didn't really do anything, and i put wax on my remote control car body you know to make it fast less wind resistance hahaha.
    1. Yes, ensure it is dry.

    2. Just the bodywork, I wouldn't recommend the windows.

Follow the instructions on the wax bottle.
if it's dry by the time you have had a cuppa tea then o.k. if not no matter , don't get a little teeny bit of polish on your black trim or your image will be ruined by the phallus replacement squad .
Check the instructions on the container. Do not wax your windows.

Hand washing a metallic paint car....?

Going to try and clean it more often......what are the best products to clean it with - do you have to wax it???Hand washing a metallic paint car....?
use a car shampoo, made for the job.Hand washing a metallic paint car....?
    All automotive finishes require wax.

Wash with a mild solution designed for automotive finishes. Mothers, Meguiars, 3m and others.

Don't use dish washing liquid. It is too harsh and will remove wax.
It needs to be waxed like any other paint.

Do not use dish washing soap to wash. It will strip the wax and is hard on the paint. I personally use Turtle Wax Wash and Wax car wash soap. It cleans well and is made to wash cars. It is inexpensive and cheaper to use than dish washing soap. There are several good brands of car wash soap on the market.

For wax, I prefer the liquid type. The paste wax is actually a little bit better, but takes a lot more work to apply. With paste wax you are also much more limited to the type weather conditions when they can be applied.

I personally use the Turtle Wax Ice products. Mostly because they are quick and easy to apply and I tend to wax more often with these. The results look good. But any of the other name brand products work just as well.
Use a wash n' wax,as it leaves a film on the car rather than car shampoo. Wipe down with a microfibre cloth, available from poundshops. Under no circumstances use washing up liquid - it's a degreaser.

To finish try using Demon Shine, 拢5 for a litre from Asda. It protects the paint and waxes the entire car in 10 minutes. Apply with a dry cloth on a dry vehicle.

Do this once a fortnight in summer and once a week in salty winter conditions.

The underside of the car is self cleaning.
get onto ebay, get some auto smart products, esp. the carnuba gold wax one pot will last you a long time and the results are great

Do Europeans wash their cars by hand?

I asked ';Do you wash your cars by hand?'; and I'm assuming most were Americans and they mainly said no. Almost nobody does anymore.

I wonder if Europeans more often than not generally prefer washing their cars by hand. I do because I like to not waste 15-20 U.S. dollars on a car wash when it's much cheaper doing it on your own. Besides, doing it on your own makes the car looks nicer if you do a more through job.

I don't know if this is a cultural thing or not. It just pisses me off how no one here seems to not do it anymore.Do Europeans wash their cars by hand?
yes, some of them doDo Europeans wash their cars by hand?
i'm not european..i usually wash my car by hand..but yesterday we went to some automated car wash spent $8..and got the whole car cleaned and dried..as well as the undercarriage..and vacummed the car ourselves with some vacuums they had there..the car is super clean..

i dont mind cleaning the car we just live in miami..so it gets hot..i would have to do in the morning..or else the car would get water spots..
When I went to Europe [Venice %26amp; Croatia] , I came across a number of people who washed their cars. In fact, my whole Europian family washed their cars. I guess it's sort of like a 'traditon' for them to wash their cars. :-]
i live in denmark (american) and most do it at the carwash...mainly cause its cold most of the time here and it rains alot...so no use in doing it by hand and taking time if it rains in 5 minutes after u wash it.
Those who live in a landed homes do. The Europeans who live in city apartments prefer to go to the car wash - they don't have a choice.
I wash my car by hand, as do many of my neighbours. I live in Canada though, so maybe we're old fashioned.
Sometimes we do. We like washing our cars when we have time.
course we do very rarly do we not its a sunday tradition every one washes their car
