The scratches must be rather deep. You should take it to a detail shop %26amp; see what they advise. I don't mean a car wash variety detailer. I mean a custom detailer. Can you tell me what type of polish I should use to get rid of those marks. Or any other method of washing. From where to get that polish, which will make my car shine again.

Turtle wax makes a GREAT rubbing compound(use the green and white not the red and white container). You will no doubt need a spray bottle of water and a good buffer to get the scratches out. Although you CAN do it by hand, you spend an eternity getting there.

try a good paste carnuba wax like Mothers.. its a little pricey maby 20 bucks but deffintally the best..thats weird though that you had no marks washed it, had markes and now they wont wash off lol .. what kind of soap did you wash it with the first time??? the marks were probally always there but you couldnt see them because the cat you got the car from polished and waxed the hell out of it and the soap you used stripped it all off..humm.. without seing it I cant really say, but its an idea..I have a 92 Celica that i can wax and it looks showroom new 2 weeks later it looks like a 92 ;)
Was anything spilled on the car? Certain chemicals might cause discoloration like bleach, nail polish remover, or even Mountain Dew. My son spit it all over my house and it actually discolored the paint.
Try some rubbing compound on the spots, followed by polishing compound. Then a good wax.
first of all use a soap made specifically to wash cars. Like Mothers or Meguiars. Don't wash with soap for dishes.
Then, dry it with a nice chamois before it dries under the sun. So wash in the shadow or at the start of the evening or be sure to always but a lot of water on the car while washing it so it doesn't dry because of the sun.
change your water a couple of times while washing it so you don't wash with dirty water
never bring your sponge or mitten at the bottom of the water. That's where all the dirt goes and you are just putting it back on the car.
Before using compound, just wax it with meguiars or mother's waxes.
use windex on the windows at the end.

Buy a power waxer ( Home Depot for 20$). Then go buy the basic Meguires Cleaner Wax. Buff in on and then buff it off. It will take fine scratches and any water marks off the paint. However you might be able to cover them up with a good wax such as Mothers. Another thing you might try is next time you wash your car use a clay block that Meguiars or Mothers makes and run that over the areas where the water marks are. Go over it a few times and then dry your car. If they are still there then try the rubbing compound and a good wax. Use Mothers cleaner wax then use a good protectant wax.

Now if your talking classic model like a 66 Chevy Impala, in near cherry condition you wash it yourself and do it all by hand because that's like your baby.

Back when I was a kid (right after the Model T came out ;) ) I washed by hand. Then I took it to the ';do it yourself'; washes. Now I stay in the comfort of the car and let the automatic car wash do it all!
With my volvo and durango, I pay to have them washed and detailed once a week. I hand wash my old benz though, I can't let anything happen to it.

Do not use dish washing soap to wash. It will strip the wax and is hard on the paint. I personally use Turtle Wax Wash and Wax car wash soap. It cleans well and is made to wash cars. It is inexpensive and cheaper to use than dish washing soap. There are several good brands of car wash soap on the market.
For wax, I prefer the liquid type. The paste wax is actually a little bit better, but takes a lot more work to apply. With paste wax you are also much more limited to the type weather conditions when they can be applied.
I personally use the Turtle Wax Ice products. Mostly because they are quick and easy to apply and I tend to wax more often with these. The results look good. But any of the other name brand products work just as well.
Use a wash n' wax,as it leaves a film on the car rather than car shampoo. Wipe down with a microfibre cloth, available from poundshops. Under no circumstances use washing up liquid - it's a degreaser.
To finish try using Demon Shine, 拢5 for a litre from Asda. It protects the paint and waxes the entire car in 10 minutes. Apply with a dry cloth on a dry vehicle.
Do this once a fortnight in summer and once a week in salty winter conditions.

I personally use the Turtle Wax Ice products. Mostly because they are quick and easy to apply and I tend to wax more often with these. The results look good. But any of the other name brand products work just as well.
Use a wash n' wax,as it leaves a film on the car rather than car shampoo. Wipe down with a microfibre cloth, available from poundshops. Under no circumstances use washing up liquid - it's a degreaser.
To finish try using Demon Shine, 拢5 for a litre from Asda. It protects the paint and waxes the entire car in 10 minutes. Apply with a dry cloth on a dry vehicle.
Do this once a fortnight in summer and once a week in salty winter conditions.
The underside of the car is self cleaning.
get onto ebay, get some auto smart products, esp. the carnuba gold wax one pot will last you a long time and the results are great

I wonder if Europeans more often than not generally prefer washing their cars by hand. I do because I like to not waste 15-20 U.S. dollars on a car wash when it's much cheaper doing it on your own. Besides, doing it on your own makes the car looks nicer if you do a more through job.

Not many motorcycle riders make use of my car wash. Should I hand out wetsuits when they drive in?

When I was younger I used to wash cars professionally. The main thing is to keep the car wet the entire time and use soap made specifically for washing cars. Never, and I can't stress this enough, never use dish soap or household cleaners like **** n' Span or Mr. Clean. They have degreasing agents in them that will strip any wax off of your car and can also damage rubber and plastic. Use a washing mitt or sponge made for cars. Wet the entire car top to bottom. Wash the roof and down to the door line on both sides, including windows and mirrors. Rinse off the soap and make sure the hood and trunk areas are wet. Wash the hood and trunk. Rinse, and wet the entire car down again. Wash half of one side and one wheel. Rinse and wash the other half and wheel. Do the same on the other side then do the front and back. Spray entire car down again. Dry with a chamois- top to bottom. On the hood, roof, and trunk use the chamois flat and drag it across the car. Kind of like how you throw a sheet on a bed. Real ones work best, but are very expensive and if not used often enough will dry out and rot. Synthetic ones work fairly well and are machine washable. Make sure to wring the chamois dry from time to time. Just make sure you keep the car wet at all times until you are ready to dry and if you drop the wash mitt on the ground, rinse it out very well to get rid of any small rocks etc.What is the proper way to hand wash a car?

Best way is to hose the car off really good before you wash it use a good clean mitt I like the micro fiber over the wool witch ever don't let it get dirty( drop it on the ground). And get some good polishing wax and wax it once a month helps protect the paint and keeps it looking new.
On a new car, or a fresh paint job, I use a section of hose with the end cut off. With this hose, I keep a constant flow of water where I'm washing. I also use a lamb's wool mitt, as this seems to lift the grit off the surface. Frequently rinse whatever you use to wash with in your favorite car wash. I use **** and Span. I don't like the automatic car washes, touch less or not, because of the ';wax'; that they usually put in one of the cycles.
Use those new ';wool mitts';, they work great. But don't try to use them on tires or a convertible top, instead use a soft sponge for those. And make sure you use a product called (very simply) ';Car Wash';, sold at any auto parts store. A good polish, then wax, I rec. McGuiars products, esp. Yellow Wax #28, AFTER you polish. Polishing is very important, even for a brand new car. Do it. You'll love it.

Any time you have automated equipment doing something like this, there is a chance for damage. Most places maintain and upgrade their equipment regularly though, so this is somewhat unlikely. The higher end, slightly more expensive car washes (where they actually have people who dry your car by hand, etc.)normally have the best equipment and do the best job.. but personally, I like the ';no touch'; automatics that don't use brushes, just high pressure water...then I dry the car myself by hand. Every once in a while I will wash AND wax the car myself by hand. Remember, no one will take better care of your car than you will. Just be sure to always use clean pads/ towels when you are doing it yourself, don't forget the interior and the tires, and make sure the car is totally clean before waxing or polishing; otherwise, you're grinding dirt into the finish.

There are brushless carwashes and those are considered totally safe for most cars. The brushes are what cause the scratching, without a brush, your finish should be fine.
the paint on your car is already six years old and so the clear-coat has had a lot of sun baked dirt and etc.-----just get a bucket of cold water and some blue dawn and soap and clean that car by your own hands---you will be proud of your wash-job when done and you have avoided high cost wash... if you can keep it out of the sun then well and good ----that's what I think........
